Surprise Performance
There's a thick curtain of haze
And I long to see the face of the sun
Slowly rising to warm my cold heart
But in searching for so long
I lost my way, stranded in the forest
And when the sun settled down to rest
The misty cloud that blocked my view
Slowly opened up to me
As the red velvet curtains of the stage
And all were now watching
With the spotlight of the moon on me
I was caught unprepared, a surprise performance
And so I danced, barefoot and free
Birds chirping in, toads croaking
The branches cracking and swaying
To the rhythm of my graceful dance
The wind whistling a new song
For me to perform on
And I took your hand and we danced
Until the night was gone
And the sun came back to me
Then I realized, I did miss the moon
And its shimmering surface
I missed the chilly breeze it brought over us
And the strange stillness it created
I realized that I didn't need the sun to warm me
But the mystic feeling of the night
Enveloping me in a warm cloak of love
