Breath
As I walked, some cold morning
My warm, moist breath
Fumed from my mouth
Leaving a cloud in front of me
As if I were a dragon
But I was not;
And I couldn't breathe fire
As dragons do
The little grey puff
Of foggy breath
Was the torn, ragged
Morsels of my soul
Slowly being sucked out of me;
Every breath I took,
In the freezing cold,
I sucked in shards
Of someone else's pain
