The Burning Serenity
Sitting with her friends she was asked
"would you like some?"
She was shakin and scared
It slid down her throat with a burning sensation
Yet it soothed her
It was a temporary release
Closing her eye and focusing on the sky she saw peace
She had found a way to escape reality
But little did she know it would run her life
Sitting at the bar the serentiy turned into a hell
Addiction.
Something that would never be brought down without force.
One more shot
One more glass
One more hit
Silently she promised herself she would stop after tonight
Driving home she looked around
Doubles of everything zipping by
Shes shaking
Sweat is running down her back
Flashing lights and people running past is all she saw
In the paper the next day
The person who drank her life away
