Untitled
The grass is flat, the day bleak
Ten million leaves are
Swirling from the trees
The erratic flight
Of silver and gold
Ending on the ground
Colors fade to dull gray
The wind shrieks
Through the empty trees
Branches bare, devoid of life
Fruited plains and purple mountains
Now the same slate gray
Tears of diamond fall from above
Cold, unforgiving jewels
For the golden orb has set
The wolf howls as the sky cries
For the flowers, for the leaves
Mother nature’s dead children
Gone with the wind, thousands in all
Birdsongs no longer to be heard
The earth is dead, color is gone
And still I
Fall

I was in the car a lot, and this came to me. I only revised it once, because I wanted it to be as original as possible, so please feel free to give me feedback.
