Red, White and Blue
I sleep with my eyes open and flinch at every sound
I flashback to when I was wounded, lying on the ground
now blood stains my Camo colors and the gun drops from my dirty hands
my eyes fight to stay open as a blurry helicopter lands
now I am at home and I feel guilt instead of pride
for serving my country instead of hearing my baby's first cry
the biggest battles are the ones when we return
yet my worries will always revolve around the countries concerns
