Someone told you
A long time ago
That the things you were doing were wrong.
Every like, every interest, everything you called your own.
Wrong.
So you question yourself.
You question every movement and decision you make,
Every answer you give, every moral you cherish.
You’re conflicted,
And in pain.
Worried.
Worried sick.
You like some things,
You’re sure you do.
But you can’t ever really know
Because someone,
A long time ago,
Said you didn’t.
Inner conflict boils up like water over fire.
Not sure what to know,
Not sure what to believe.
You’re starting to get tired.
Tired of being fearful about every action you make.
Tired of needing consent.
Tired of sheltering yourself and dulling your light for that hateful someone.
Tired of running
And hiding.
Break it off, break away.
Love what you love.
You determine your inner rules.
You know what’s right and what’s wrong.
