Towering over us,
proud and strong.
Protecting us from
those who seek
to destroy us.
Reminding us of
those who lost and will lose
their lives to maintain our freedom.
Remember the people
that lose their lives
for ours.
Memorial day,
veterans day
showing respect to those
who do the things
some are too cowardly to do.
Reminding us of
all we went through
to become
the United States of America.
The home of the free.
Still standing
in the middle of battle field
as if saying
“You can try,
but you can’t take me down.”
Red, White, and Blue.
Stars and Stripes.
The flag of freedom.
The American Flag.

In school we had to write a poem and it had to a Ode to something. My Language Arts teacher has American Flags all around his room and thats what inspired me.
