The Hunter's Pride
The group had left late in the night
Back when everything was right
Then they passed around the loaded guns
Ready to go and have some fun
A hunting trip will be fun they said
But he would rather be home in bed
Brown boots stomped and crunched on the leaves
Their shadows and faces hidden by the trees
Closing with a mighty snap
The hunters caught more game in their traps
And then the man had to see
The dears they caught in two’s and three’s
Being killed right before his eyes
The hunter’s stabs quickly ending their lives
Kneeling with eyes blown wide
He watched as the hunters shine with pride
Letting out a hardy laugh
The hunters patted each other on the back
“What man can take pleasure in this” he thought
Being the one to fire the shot
I’m sure it would not be as fun
If he was on the other side of the gun
