Believe Me
Because I couldn't force you to believe me,
I just asked you to listen.
I told you it got better.
Because our hearts were wounded,
I was careful with my feelings.
I didn't let you see me slipping.
Because of you, my whole world changed
From quiet to broken and screaming,
To wiping away tears, and trying to be strong.
I thought maybe, I could change your world, too.
Maybe.
I remember it so vividly, every word we ever shared,
You told me you were hurting and I showed you that I cared.
Now I promise, we're so close to the end.
The end of all this hurt and pain.
But with endings, come beginnings,
And God, I hope your next beginning is a lot better to you than this one.
