Night Flows
January 4, 2016
Night flows
like tear-washed mascara,
leaving trails of residue
on day’s bright cheek.
Night glows
silver-blue on coffee-steamed faces;
twin rectangular stars in dim eyes
draw sagging rings underneath.
Night grows
like a crimson abscess, at last
bursting under pressure, spewing its guts
into unforgiving light.
