Am I dreaming?
The sky is grey and the sun is falling.
I see him then- walking behind me, picking up speed.
Am I dreaming?
I try to run but my legs seem to be stuck.
My heart beats like an 808 drum, ba dum ba dum ba dum.
Am I dreaming?
I can’t scream, I can’t fight… I’m too scared.
He’s caught up to me now- I guess this is my goodbye.
Am I dreaming?
His hand grasps my shoulder, I’m wincing, anticipating pain.
We lock eyes. My heart stops.
Am I dreaming?
Tranquility rushes through my soul like a rogue wave.
There’s no pain, no threat in the look in his eyes…
Am I dreaming?
Yes.
But it’s not a nightmare.
