Return the tender lover,
the slow dancing, the smooth jazz.
Hand-written emotions of
love we once had.
“Fight for love.
We’re on a bright track.”
Laid back and mellow...
time is what he lacked.
His very last ballad
sung most effortlessly,
“We’ve got love...”
Death presented his delivery.
Return the tender lover,
the slow dancing, the smooth jazz.
No marriage, no songs--
Only heartache’s chime
of love we once had.
