Why I Hate Winter
I hate winter
Because it is cold and numb,
Just like the certain something inside me
Who's presence I would gladly
Like to ignore forever.
I hate winter
Because it is pale and blank,
Just like the thoughtless expression
That covers my face
In a frigid embrace.
I hate winter
Because it is deathly and emotionless,
Just like an ice-coated girl I know
Who can provide no warmth
For anyone, including herself.
I hate winter
Because it is dark and lifeless,
Just like the reflection in the mirror
Who so faithfully waits for me
Each day without fail.
I hate winter
Because it reminds me so much of me,
And I never wanted to be
Like the symbol of death
That I so clearly am.
