The First Time
It’s the perfect weather to fall in love,
Or maybe the perfect time to go on the very first date:
The awkward giggles to hide the nervousness,
The inquisitive glances, thinking that maybe if I stare long and hard enough,
I will be able to figure you out.
The accidental moments, when your hand brushes against mine,
and the flustered feeling that follows.
But you take a chance, and lace your warm hands into mine,
And then we walk along,
And try to ignore the fact that our hands were just ignited into flames.
The crinkles by your eyes when you laugh,
The little smirk you put on as you taunt me,
The way you cradle my cheeks, right before you kiss me,
And yes, I do notice when you look at me when you think I am not looking.
Yes, it indeed was,
This morning was the perfect time to fall in love for the very first time.
