A Novella
There is chaos in Nature,
a Billion years old.
Every creature is a chapter,
in the greatest story ever told.
Every Plant is a ballad,
of a battle long done,
with every loser banished,
until there was only one.
Every Animal is an index,
of the markings of the times,
when the seas rose, or the ground froze,
counting the Earth's crimes.
Every Insect is a letter,
each feeding a bigger word.
They sustain the world's creatures,
not matter how absurd.
Every Person is a poem,
too short and too kind,
shaping the lives of others,
with their hand and mind.
