Where I'm From
Where I’m From
I’m from a time of put downs–
“Midget,” “Angry Elf” and “I thought you were a fifth grader!”
Unconfident and frustrated . . .
I am from Lake Country–
Clicks, judging, and selfish.
Boring and uneventful . . .
I am from a lonely childhood–
Never having anyone to play with, I was never good enough for my brothers
Isolated and independent . . .
I am from a family of 5 with 2 brothers,
One, with no emotion, trying to find a new path in massage therapy
Another, troubled, trying to push through pain.
Family and love with an empty space . . .
I am from where nothing matters and I don’t care what people think,
judging me and wanting me to change.
Pain and tears . . .
I am a lonely girl trying to find myself again.
Depressed, angry, with an empty heart.
Lost and unhappy.
