I guess I must be broken
Because when you kiss me I feel only
the burning chafe of skin on skin
and
beads of your saliva dripping on my face.
But I'll kiss you back because
That's what you expect, but
I don't
understand
why.
It's like I am here, and everyone else is over there
And maybe I can take a step across the line
And lean forward and reach
until
we're holding hands.
But one foot is always firmly cemented here
and that
can never
change.
