drive through doughnut shops
and 24 hour chicken and waffles
and all the stars I could ever want
indecisiveness
and a temperature that makes me shiver
and listening to you talk about hockey
wanting to be spontaneous
but not wanting to f*** things up
but we did
twelve minute phone calls
with awkward silences
with heavy sighs on my end
writing about it all
to try and forget about what happened
to try and pretend I don’t care
I don’t care
I don’t care
I don’t care
Maybe if I say it enough
it will eventually become true
