Rock Bottom
I am deep
Emotions cut me like a knife,
Ruthlessly stabbing and jabbing
The world’s as shallow as the lake bottom
Below the ‘no diving’ sign,
Yet I dove,
Blinded by an irrational trust
In the world’s kindness
I am deep
The world is shallow
I cannot move
Paralyzed by the cruelty
Of the heartless shallowness
That refuses to end my suffering
And forces me to do it myself
I hold my breath
I am deep
The world is shallow
