The Hike
As we hiked up the steep bluff
I began to notice the beauty of nature
The beautifully colored flowers
As if painted by an artist
The full green trees
The natural tall grass
The excellent view
No one in sight
not even a sound
Except the singing birds
And the rustling of squirrels
Which I don’t mind
With my family, as we reach the top
We could see everything
The distant green hills, the raging river
The huge blue sky above us
The silent city below us
As if it were sleeping
The best place to be
But as we walked down
The noises came back
The silence ruined
By the cars moving
By people yelling
No more natural things
Just the hustle and bustle of mankind and its creations
