My Sunshine for Mom
From the very first moment,
you knew your love would be life long.
I was your ray of sunlight,
and you were my mom.
When I was 5 you were always there,
for big things like birthdays,
and small things like loose teeth.
You were right by my side.
At 12 you helped me through my darkest days,
through the bullying and lost friends.
You stood there to help me take it on,
knowing one day it'll only make me stronger.
After 15 years of drama and hardship,
you still stand by my side through it all.
Through the darkness and through the luminescence,
you shaped me into who I am today.
I now hope to always be there for you,
to help you through your shadowed,
and to celebrate your shining.
Not only to show my unconditional love,
but to also show my admiration for you.
For you are stronger than I ever thought possible.
And to thank you,
for giving and doing all I ask.
