From God to The Damned
I don’t care about what you like to do
I watch houses burn and people die
I silently observe as you count the cracks on your apartment ceiling,
As you dream farther away from your eluding happiness
I watch as you smoke and pass the time and slowly pass away
I don’t say a word
I don’t pay any mind
But you still wish for me
I have reached out to you before with no success
It was me that caused the final glance over your shoulder before you bought those drugs
That final self-questioning
You felt me, did you not?
As you come down from your high you sit up in bed
And pray for me to help you
I don’t act upon your plea
I don’t care about your broken life
The crimson streak that I cast across the sky is only for the mended and the perfect
Maybe I could make you like them
Just shut up
And let me bless you
