Statement of Fact
Not all who wander are lost.
I’m lost. But, I too,
am found,
in my one stoplight town,
where I am brought up and
brought down.
This town that taught me Sunday school,
and coat of many colors,
and don’t stand behind a horse unless you want to be kicked,
and that picking your own switch is a special kind of hell.
This town produced my mother,
who taught me
God made the sky Carolina blue,
(just for me and you.)
that peace>war,
and there’s no one in life keeping score
and you are forever love.
My dreams are vast,
lightning and thunder, bigger than the sky’s last
attempt to beat back the storm.
But I am small,
Small like a child who wanted to be tall.
Today I stepped outside,
onto wet dew,
in the morning light.
All those dreams I had?
I will become them.
And even more-
I will soar!
(Not all who wander are all lost.)
