sometimes there is poetry/in my veins
sometimes there is poetry
in my veins in
my sweat
my head throbs with voice
wordless
byzantine-sweet and vinegar-urgent
and sometimes
my heart goes tepid and staticy
beating out of rhythm listless
the gusting
of wind against
the creaking house the words
stutter and stagger drunk across
the pages
and
sometimes silence-sparks
like fireworks
behind closedeyes
but
listening is best
of all
