Named after Alexander the Great,
the Lighthouse of Alexandria
Cost 800 talents...
Constructed with limestone blocks;
preparation, powerful, proud.
Guiding sailors to the port.
Shaking... Swaying... Earth moving...
Trembling... Crashing waves... Debrey drifting in the Nile.
EARTHQUAKE
Parts of the lighthouse;
Floating…
Sinking…
Drifting away...
Soon only feet of the lighthouse remain.
No longer guiding sailors to the port.
