The trial commences, a man waits,
Unarmed. Unprotected. Unimportant...
The man’s testimony declared.
His Life in the balance
His fate resting in the jurors’ hands…

Accused of contending the King.
The man recalls the affair.
*A soldier pushes the man’s wife.
The man attacks the soldier.
The soldier summons his weapon.*
His fate rests in the soldier's hands...

The jury returns, Papyrus in hand.
“Guilty!”
“This man shall be exiled immediately!”
The man raises his head,
Quiet. Calm. Composed...
For the man knows
His fate rests in his own hands….
