Did you know your heart can actually break?
You can feel the weight of it before.
The tightness in your chest.
The little bit of hope lost.
Every crack of your heart releases another sob.
They rake your body,
Making it hard to breathe,
And every breath you take makes you chest hurt more.
All you want is for everything to go away,
The pain.
The sadness.
Everything.
And eventually…
Everything does.
Your body falls numb.
Except the dull ache in the center of your chest.
