He Just Wanted Love
He just wanted someone to love.
He just wanted a hand to hold.
He just wanted someone to make him laugh.
He just wanted someone to sit up with him late at night.
He just wanted long conversations, and silly banter.
He just wanted his love to be reciprocated.
But I couldn’t provide.
I’m too weak to hold my head up and look him in the eyes.
I was scared, and I let him break.
I let him fall apart.
I let my fears kill us both.
And it’s too late now.
It’s too late to go back.

The story of how I broke someone's heart because I couldn't provide the love he deserved.
(Also, we don't often read about the other side of heartbreak. We often hear about the person who's been heartbroken, but sometimes the person who causes the pain gets hurt too.)
