“To Catch But A Wink”
To catch but a wink is what life isn't anymore.
To catch but a wink is what we seek, to be no longer sore.
Because in order to soar to the top of the peak, to be unique,
We must achieve peace, not war.
And all that gore upon the shore, what is it all for, I ask myself each week.
To wake to the sun is what we wish but do not get.
To wake to the sun is something fulfilling, but is a threat.
Because do we want to wake under a king, upon a string,
And enter a ring for life to be set.
And all that sweat, but still in debt, while being only a puppet... I’m only a thing.
To run along pavements is what they want to see, but
To run along pavements is an escape, it is the end of me.
Because I have a bruised knee and all these scrapes, but can’t change shape,
I cross the tape, but still need to flea.
And there use to be three, but couldn’t be, so now it’s just me, left to suffocate.
To finally say hello to those I dream about.
To finally say hello to those who feel, I love without a doubt.
Because to have an out with those who are real, with those who are ideal,
Grab life’s steering wheel, i can take another route.
And I can finally sprout, and start to scout what life is about, and fine its appeal.
But if only I get to catch but a wink and not have to worry,
I might get a happy ending to my story.
