Ho Hum
It’s just one of those days where
Profundity is entirely absent
I tried making a poem about the grass
As I mowed it today
But all I could think about was
What if
Lawn mowers are loud to cover up the
Noise of grass screaming
And that the Kansas morning dew
That I hold so dear
Is just the grass mourning, in tears
On the news I saw
A tribute to several fallen soldiers
From our area.
There were kids outside running and screaming in muddy puddles.
When it rains, it
Pours.
