Not Even If You Kissed Me
I would not tell you my name, my fate,
I would not burn as you burn in the vision of sunlight,
I would not crawl with you across the damp, green grass,
Not even if you kissed me.
I would not lie with you,
Staring up at the large white moon,
Gazing into the glittering beam of the stars;
Not even if you kissed me.
I would not walk with you,
Holding hands,
Around a dark blue lake trailed with crumpled leaves,
Not even if you kissed me.
I would not love you, hold you,
In the dark depths of sunrise
Or soothe your pained cries,
Not even if you kissed me.
I would not lie to you
And feed you sweet, beautiful nothings,
And look into your eyes, so blue;
Not even if you kissed me.
I would not confess all my secrets;
The lame band I like, the way I used to try to fly
Or lick the freeze off a snowflake;
Not even if you kissed me.
I would not open my heart to you,
Although your eyes are my favourite hue;
I would not let you pour my steaming hot tea:
I swear, not even if you kissed me.
