Forgive and Forget?
It’s funny
how the people
you think
could never hurt you,
are often the ones who hurt you the most.
They say, “Forgive and forget?”
to which I respond, “Forgiven, forgotten.”
But, did I ever really forget?
I haven’t forgotten when you called me a b****.
I haven’t forgotten when you called me ugly.
I haven’t forgotten when you called me uptight.
I haven’t forgotten when you shamed me for wearing shorts.
I haven’t forgotten when you told I’d win
because I “flirted” my way into the seventh grade.
I haven’t forgotten when you sprayed disinfectant in my face.
I haven’t forgotten you telling me to kill myself.
I haven’t forgotten when you told me to stop liking
5 Seconds of Summer and Teen Wolf.
I haven’t forgotten the lies you spread about me.
I haven’t forgotten when you called me bossy and controlling.
I haven’t forgotten how you made me feel worthless.
I haven’t forgotten how you’ve made me feel.
I haven’t forgotten anything.
But, “Forgive and Forget?”
Right?
Wrong.
