Shine
Their words hurt so bad
Your shine starts to dim
No one notices
It flickers like a lightbulb
No one talks to you anymore
Its burned out completely
You walk around school
No shine to brighten your day
One day its going to change
You just don't know it
Someone comes along
And changes that bulb
They talk to you
It shines brighter
You show the true you
They back away
Your confused and hurt
The bulb gets dimmer
They leave
Your thrown back in darkness
You cry
Your world is pitch black
You try to change the bulb
But it keeps breaking
You pick the glass out of your hand
And start to overthink
That person comes back
This time its you backing away
They hurt you
You dont want them back
Someone else comes along
Your scared they'll leave
They change the bulb
But you don't show the true you
They assure you they are here to stay
You shine brighter than before
Your true self comes out
They accept you and love you
