Dancing with Shadows
Anxiety, like a second shadow.
It’s constantly following, attached.
Dark and deceptive in the face of the sun.
Oft not seen, even by yourself.
Like a hallucination,
People don’t always believe it’s there.
Like a stalking predator,
You might not even realize it’s there.
Attacking, nagging, clawing.
As a voice in your head speaks secrets,
Secrets that should be shared.
Overthinking, overreacting,
Like a puppeteer, controlling your actions.
Anxiety, like everything and nothing at once.
