Upside Down
I sit there and stare,
Looking into empty white,
I don't know why nothing's there,
It's just an empty white canvas,
Sitting upside down,
"It's upside down?
How can you tell?"
So I turn it twice and set it back,
There's something wrong,
The white is now black.
"How can this be,
You haven't touched your paint."
As I stare into black,
The voice grows faint,
I blink,
It's blue, with a dark spot of ink.
I stand to run, but I find I'm drowning.
"Come aboard friend, you've made quite a mess of yourself."
Tendrils from the deep pulling me down,
I begin to panic I'm going to drown,
"Quick the canvas!"
But It's too late,
I fall through nothing,
and I've sealed my fate.
The canvas is still upside down,
"I still don't see what you mean it's a blank canvas. How can it be upside down?"
There's no one here,
Whose voice is this?
"Ah I see it now."
The canvas is yellow,
I smile,
There's silence,
Even if only for awhile.
