Surviving
He stood tall,
like the mountain before him,
rigid and immovable.
Gales of wind ruffled spotted fur
as they swirled by,
screaming and howling.
He crouched silently
as his majestic eyes
scanned the desolate land,
for the slightest of movements,
the tiniest sign of life.
A twitch of his tail
signaled his impatience.
His sole thought;
nourishing his body and surviving
this cold, barren land.
