Twisted Dreams
Thick twisted tassels
Sticky stuff stuck
To your fingers like tentacles
A twisted heart made of difficult matter
Whittling away time like a sad goodbye
I laugh and play along
Wind whistles and rain screams
I wish to dream of a time
Better than the day to come
For puppy kisses and better days
For the days spent in the yard playing
For my childhood long gone
For the day's blown away like dust on the sun
Maybe it's time to wake up from my daydreams
The sun may yet shine
The ceiling could crack and break at anytime
My wings might sprout
My freedom will call out to me
Like a brittle winter bitten bud i won't die out
I won't let strangers smite me
Like ants i won't be stepped on
Like a grandfather clock i will stand strong against time
