For Her (Part V)
You saw me through a glass, darkly,
trapped in a stagnant pool of tears.
Your eyes reflected in the glass:
emerald and sapphire, alive and clear, piercing
the dark. They rippled light
and stirred the waters,
stirring my fragile frame.
And I clutched on for dear life, darling,
to your ever-growing eyes, and all the hope that they held.
You voice pulled me ever farther, dispersing through my body, until at last I felt
a surge, of the glass shattering, of the pieces
melting into speckles of light,
and I laid curled, trembling, in your smiling arms,
sobbing tears of joy.
