Line-driven Spike

I am a line-driven spike.
A perfectly set ball, delivered to the pin,
A scream of opportunity and the desire to win.
A clear view of the line, the shouts of the team,
A boiling of the blood, oh what a dream.
A smack of the hand making contact with the ball,
A comforting pressure, will you succeed or will you fall?
A final look as two feet hit the floor,
A feeling of triumph leaves you itching for more.
A cheer as the ball lands and a point hits the board,
A whistle for the next play, another kill scored.
