feeling of life
the swirl of loneliness sounds like
the only car on the highway
at three in the morning
when you should be fast asleep.
the rock bottom of october
never will cease to please me
with the the crisp night air
and the crunch of orange maple leaves.
the shape of the past
fits inside my old tennis shoes
that I would wear everyday
in elementary school.
the antonym of pink is blue
because girls like pink
and boys like blue
and that’s how it will always be.
the enemy of green
hides between the shadows of the leaves
on the forest floor
from that old oak tree in Grandma’s yard.
when you toss sadness to the wind
it returns as a bright sunny day
giving you a new chance
and a fresh start.
when you tiptoe through
the valley of happiness
you might find life
as its truly meant to be lived.
