Animals Persons- Ants
Another oat from my granola bar falls to the ground.
He spots it, and he wants it.
He moves fast to it before the others.
The supplies have arrived, and they are limited.
He needs back-up.
He waits.
One by one they gather round.
The push, pull, and knudge.
This is what they have been waiting for.
They haul the first piece away.
Construction begins.
I scatter more crumbs across the pavement.
They all scurry back.
Inch by inch with tired backs…
They build a home of sand and oats.
