Mon Paradis
Paris, France
The city of love, hope, and beauty
Gazing at the lights shining from the top of the Tour Eiffel
Realization that this is what paradise is.
Paradise doesn’t have to be beaches and water,
Paradise can be filled with lights and people.
Love.
When you hear the word Paris people think love.
Yet, it isn’t the kind of love between two people.
The Paris love is a love of the city,
The love of the people.
The love that comes with being in a paradise.
Cars zip by the scene in front of me,
But I stay.
I stay and I look.
Sometimes with some places and views you just have to stay,
You can’t just zip by.
You have to look.
When I looked I truly realized that this was,
My paradise.

After a trip to Paris this spring, I got the inspiration to write this poem because Paris to me truly is paradise.
