You Came
I was dreaming
commanded to rest by a spell
the sun unable to reach me
the night shading me in coldness
no sound or light or pleasure—
yet
little whispers came to my ear
that made me dream of mountains
hot breaths came to my neck
that made me dream of warm sunlight—
suddenly
you came to me, lightly
you in my ear you on my neck
as a flower blooms in the sun
you came
and nudged me in my sleep;
your feet slid gently against mine
with gold around your waist
you came
with spring on your hands
with sunlight in your eyes
with earthy roots that touch
you came–
you came and nudged me awake
to sunlight to flowers
with kind whispers and gentle touches
you came.
I awoke with the living
suddenly
you touching my skin
as I had slept
lovely one,
you are my lovely one
and no longer do I dream.
