You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough

A lion approaches a pack of primates

They begin to flee, and the elder ones; they lag

So, they stop, and let the younger ones free

To allow them to reproduce
A simple act of bravery and sacrifice
Without the worry of afterlife or a deity

Why do people get so caught up in religion?
The great Albert Einstein said “If people are good
Only because they fear punishment, and hope for

A reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed”
He is right as two plus two equals four

I do not need a book to tell me what is right and wrong
I do not need a book to tell me fantasies
It’s common sense to not murder and steal

It is common sense to treat everyone with respect

I guess someone needs to tell that to the religious people

Who feels the need to hold signs that say

God Hates F***; IF he was real, just if,

He would hate you, because you broke his “word”

And I would hate you, too

Why do you focus on one sin, when YOU commit one

Maybe more, every day of your life

So do not waste the excuse that it is against your religion

Unless you do that with everything that’s considered sin

How come churches do not have to pay taxes?

Freedom of religion? What about freedom of the press?

Newspaper makers have to pay taxes

Maybe it’s because religion itself is the most evil thing mankind has created

It warps our mind, puts it in a bind

Maybe it is because they think they are entitled;

Because they worship a deity that there is no proof of existence

Have you ever heard of atheists killing each other,

Because they do not belong to the right sect

Of a particular religion? No. Neither have I.

Have you ever heard of atheists insulting people,

Because of the “sins” they committed? No. How
Interesting?!

Some of you are probably thinking

Why is he up here, speaking against my beliefs?

You have no room to speak

You sing about God, you follow Him

Leaders cannot be followers

I speak about my beliefs

I speak about who I am

I stand for myself and others

Who follow the flow of words

That run through the river of I

I sat in silence, and now I stand with courage

As if just thoughts were not enough

In a world where filth sweeps our minds

We will not uncover the kindest finds

Let me say to You right now

You might think I am low

Granted, I spoke my mind

Because silence is no longer an option

I have been the recessive

Among a group of dominants

The gene of me has switched

If I must say one final thing

If He was real, and asked me
About my lack of faith

I would simply reply

“I saw a third of the world starving to death

While the church paid no taxes”

That crap is on you, oh great God

This has to do with my feelings towards religion in society today
