Paperweight
When watery glass engulfs something,
there's a magnifying effect.
A glossing over of texture -
cracks aren't felt, but they reflect.
Passersby can come examine
the object at its core,
running fingers on the smooth glass dome
in the place where others wore.
The little object on the inside,
painted pink and pocked with pores,
is beautiful but can't be touched -
it'll never feel your warmth.
