Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” ― Catherine of Siena

Looking back at it now,
I do not know how or when I began to write,
During that time it was as if I was stuck at a red light,
Until poetry turned the light green,
So it seems.
It was a regular day,
When I wrote to say the things I could not say.
I was busy with school
Feeling trapped in a whirlpool,
Frustrated and alone,
I broke the wishbone,
I began to let go.
As each word was written, something began to feel aglow
It was as if I could feel my heart soar,
Like an open door.
As the words in the poem began to form,
I realized I had unleashed a firestorm
Yes! A storm of passion on a page,
A war was just waged.
I can’t turn back now,
I don’t know how.
Inspired by the Raven who only spoke “nevermore”
I let the words roar.
When the words began to yell,
One by one the bricks on my shoulder’s fell,
Until there was nothing left but a spark,
A spark that would not be left in the dark,
Something was unleashed inside me,
I felt free.
On that day,
When I wrote to say the things I could not say

Words Spoke!

This is a poem about why I began to write poetry, it conveys the feeling of being frustrasted and finally venting through poetry.
