Happiness is a Side Effect of Depression
They never tell you that happiness is a side effect of depression.
They never tell you that your smile gets bigger as your thoughts grow darker.
She was the happiest girl I knew.
She was the unhappiest girl I had ever met.
She was tears and sobs and quiet grief, brewing and simmering until all that was left was a transparent vapor.
But her mask, that was a sliver of sunshine. She had trained her eyes to hide her sould and had built her fortress so strong even the most observant could never get in.
She was--excuse me-- she still, but barely.
She is uhappy.
She is tears and sobs and quiete grief.
She is in so deep that she may never get out,
But she still is.
She's still here and I'll do my best to keep it that way.
