I Was Fourteen
I walked along the left side of the path.
With Tuesday’s glowing sky.
I was fourteen.
I came to a ribbon of deep wooden bridge.
White water combing it’s silky hair.
I was fourteen.
I looked at the sinking belly of sun.
Then I glanced behind the path laden with gold.
I was fourteen.
But I would save gold for a darker sight.
Today I would follow the path a head.
I was fourteen.
