The Dragon
I stare into the horizon
Have you ever feared my atrocious fire-breathing?
Have you ever mocked at my avoricious treasure-hoarding?
Have you ever adored my omnipotent weather-bewitching?
Have you ever appreciated my generous blessing of rainfalls after a prolonged drought,
But discretely grudging over my queer temper?
Have you ever cheered the happy-ever-afters?
A courageous knight, an imprisoned princess,
The slaughtered dragon, the blood oozing.
Have you ever been willing to believe
The high tower protects the misapprehended admiration.
I stare into horizon--
The rosy-fingered dawn.
Emotions are way too burdensome,
Too luxurious.
So why, do I sit on top of
A full world’s worth of treasures,
But greedily craving a genuine heart that
Appreciates my soul.
I stare into horizon,
Lamenting the helpless puissance,
Perpetual forlornness.
