A Cliché Lament
stirring
black coffee
busy cafe
young writer
notebook
and laptop
how cliché
she thinks to herself
sip
hot
no inspiration
she types anyway
sip
stomach rumbles
empty
a void
like her heart
gulp
sip
how cliché
she feels
doubtful
worthless
she wonders
what could her purpose be?
was she destined to fail?
she doesn’t know if
“follow your dreams” was
a beautiful lie
how cliché
scared worried
tired
bored
hopeful doubtful
dreamy happy optimistic
lost
sad annoyed confused
she has felt it all
yet there are still many feelings
she feels
her words cannot describe
how cliché
mostly
she is alone
but not lonely
except sometimes she is
alone
and lonely
she tries not to think about it
but the more she tries
the more she thinks about it
and the lonelier
she feels
how cliché
she cannot think of an ending
The End
(how cliché)
